A new combat training pool for the hellenic special forces by Porcelana (16/09/2011)

One of the major projects recently undertaken by Porcelana is the new combat training pool of the Hellenic Special Forces, which will be used for the training of Frogmen and Combat Divers of the Hellenic Land Forces at Megalo Pefko.

The combat training pool, which has been a training objective of the Hellenic Special Forces for many years, was inaugurated on Thursday, 8 September by the President of the Hellenic Republic, in a ceremony that was also attended by major political and military figures. Apart from its training mission, the training pool can also accommodate sports events, as it can operate on both fresh and sea (salt) water. In addition to that, the pool is heated and can also be used for recreational activities on holidays.

After the inauguration ceremony, an exercise for the deterrence of island occupation was held, with the participation of units of the Special Parachutists Department, the 7th Squadron of Amphibious Commandoes, the 1st Attack Helicopters Battalion and the 2nd and 4th Army Helicopter Battalion.

Through its know-how and the provision of top materials for specialized constructions, Porcelana has contributed to ensuring the project's quality and operating life.
